Stretch

Whenever the body is stretched by growth or by over stretching exercises, some lines start forming and hence these lines have got their name as stretch marks. People may get delusional over this issue as we all know that our body is elastic due to the presence of the connective tissue called Collagen, but in cases of over stretching of body this tissue disrupts leaving these fine lines on the stretched area.

The appearance of stretch marks on the body in different stages is associated to hormonal changes occurred in the body during puberty, pregnancy and rapid exercise sessions. They appear as red and purple lines on the body and eventually fade out. The affected body parts are left soft and empty. Stretching plays its role in the appearance of the stretch marks in determining the place and direction where they are going to appear and not solely as the cause for their appearance.

The question of how to get rid of stretch marks is very difficult to solve. These stretch marks can be treated using surgeries. These surgeries may lead to many side effects. These have more disadvantages than advantages. Some surgeries may cause permanent damage to the skin. One should properly understand the risk of surgeries before going through one.
